Smells like home. Amazing welcome by staff. Food was on point, worth the drive from Austin.

It really Was really good much better than I expected spicy but not as a bland hot really good and the service was a good well-kept restaurant nice people friendly with a beautiful smile and the laughter ain't bad

Fast friendly service out of a small family style restaurant. Had the jerk chicken plate and the flavor was awesome! Gonna get oxtail next time definitely worth checking out.

Food us pretty good. Chicken curry was great and jerk was very spicy but good at the same time.

Food was okay! The curry goat was good and fresh. The rice and peas wasn't fresh. Beef patty was ok. Will visit again.

Going on my 3rd visit in 2 months. Their food is amazing. You don't get much interaction from the employees, so it's a bit uncomfortable wanting to ask questions; especially if you dont know much about their food. Anyhoo, I tried the jerk chicken and gumbo because that's what I do know. I'm not into goat and oxtails so pass on that. I give this spot an excellent rating because they did not disappoint.

This was a weird experience. They seem to be letting the restaurant go to pieces. The interior needs work and tables and chairs are starting to break and table cloths need to be changed out. The girl who took my order had an attitude because I asked her about the suspicious prepared foam cups of juice in the fridge. I ended up trying the guava one but I don't recommend it to anyone it was like syrup just get the bottled Jamaican soda or juice that was manufactured anywhere else. I gave them 2 stars only because the chicken tasted good. Too many bones not enough chicken but it was lunch time so I just called it a day.

I had the small stewed ox tail and rice and it was AWESOME! Plenty of food, great taste, fast service. I will make the ride from Austin to come back here again.

I just tried this place and omg, I will definitely be coming here more often because this is probably the best restaurant that I have found being here. The portions are huge and the food is freshly made and everything was so good. My whole family enjoyed it, even my 8 month old son enjoyed the meal. Everything is full of flavor. The meat is so tender!! The cabbage had flavor, and most places skip that. I can't wait to come back here! This is now my go to. Customer service is also great!

I had an order of stew chicken, NO FLAVOR AT ALL. It seemed like it wasn’t marinated at all. The rice and peas had oxtail gravy on it. My fiancé had jerk chicken BLAND BLAND BLAND no smoke flavor, over cooked! I’m sorry that we wasted 25$ on this food. Cabbage was not seasoned at all. The service was also undesirable. I feel like someone stole from us. 😡 I deleted the portion of my review that you were concerned with.

I love Ava’s, I have tried every menu item and it’s all amazing. My favorite dish is the oxtails with rice and peas. Great portions and great service from a wonderful family owned restaurant.

1st time experience, just got the curry goat. 5/5 stars. Great recommendation.

During covid 19 an employee did not wear a mask. He was asked about his mask, he explained he just came in. The issue I have is you are handling my food and did protect me or yourself. The other issue is it’s a law to wear a mask and the sign on your front door states you must wear a mask. The other issue is the level of respect and hospitality was piss poor. Food was good. I am not sure if I will return or give it a second try.

The food and service is great here. The atmosphere really shows you they care about their customers and are proud of the delicious food they serve daily.

I'm usually skeptical about new places to eat because I get disappointed a lot, especially here in Killeen. But this place!!!!! Yo! So worth it. Everything was so dang on good! We got Oxtail and Curry goat with plaintains.

The spices were there but they were too toned down for my liking. I had the jerk chicken, and while the outer part of the chicken was delicious the meat inside did not have the flavor of the outside. The rice and peas also had the same lackluster taste. I was hoping for the food to have a richer taste like the food cooked by my Caribbean family but I was pretty disappointed with it.

Food is so good plus their service is fast. I like to order and go. Don't really care for the drink options. The food is amazing though. Got a Jamaican patty and goat curry meal I believe last time. The plantains were so good and sweet.

I just had the catfish, rice, cabbage & plantain for lunch. Great food at a great price! I even ordered an extra side of plantain, it’s that good!

The Prices are compatible with the quality of the food. Excellent. Fresh. You get what you pay for. They never seem to have oxtails available though.

We ordered take out yesterday and I was extremely disappointed. I ordered the chicken soup and there was a very long peice of hair in the soup.

Ordered Jerk Chicken, Oxtail, fried dumplings, and beef patties. Very traditional and affordable. If you're in Killeen this spot you have to hit. Friendly staff.
